Our Solution: Dragon Academy
A Tri-Value NFT Utility System
We believe that the underlying value of the blockchain is held in the people, and in the verifiability of the data. Dragon Academy has the ability to capture this value, and a transparent plan to increase it over time. By growing a community of demonstrably human users who become more and more advanced, we curate a list of airdrop recipients ideal to stay in an ecosystem and use a suite of products. By creating Dragon Academy, we provide a mechanism for training that community verifiably, and rewarding them based on behavior.
We recognized a need to introduce a reputation system to change the current incentive structure, and give our community the means to earn merit based rewards by increasing their reputation to prove alignment. By simultaneously teaching and rewarding bullish behavior, we incentivize the behavior that protocols want to see, aggregate the opportunities available to our users, and provide retail users with the experience they want (making money and learning about crypto).
To track this reputation and allow retroactive rewards of a participant’s behavior, we decided to issue each user an NFT and compensate them for incentivized behavior with soulbound tokens. The transactions create permanent records of the user's interaction with the protocol, and allows us to give users a “Level” of NFT. This level is used to qualify for 2024 Rewards, signal to other protocols that they are an ideal user for future airdrop campaigns, signal experience and reputation in the Discord or their personal social media accounts, and use their historical work to apply for task-based jobs with our partners. These tokens cannot be exchanged or traded and consist of:
Learning Tokens: Proof of Development (Given for onboarding tasks or historical usage)
Reputation Tokens: Proof of Humanity (Given for human validated tasks and valuble onchain contributions)
Experience Tokens: Proof of Task Based Employment History (Given for Completing Bounties from Partner Protocols, or verification of historical work from partner protocols)
It is crucial to give users an experience that they actually want that isn’t too boring or complicated for them to understand. We gamified the reputation building, removed the web3 friction of participation, and most importantly, added in compensation. In addition to the reputation and educational rewards, users are compensated in USDC for completing leveling tasks. Three rewards distributions will occur in 2024, with each distribution being limited to a higher Level of NFT. These rewards are expected to be substantial, generating loyalty and excitement to participate the next year’s enrollment.
This accomplishes the following:
Provides a merit based system where retail users contribute in healthy ways and are compensated
Provides a user experience retail wants (getting paid in USDC, learning about new products and narratives, building valuable skills with a verifiable history of their contributions)
Provides retail users a way to make money in crypto without having to rely on speculation or holding large amounts of risk-they are compensated for participation.
Provides protocols a means to distribute marketing/airdrop rewards in a targeted, measurable, and valuable way with liquidity terms that support the best interest of their products.
Solves the issue of sell pressure after airdrop distributions by retargeting the budget to a grant based system based in USDC
Provides protocols with a list of users who are onboarded, educated, behave in net bullish ways, and are aligned long term with the industry. These users make excellent airdrop candidates!
